Summary: Amazing little cafe/bakery. Pancakes are life-affirmingly good, and Chai Latte puts Starbucks to shame. Hard to find entrance; go around the back of the plaza! Came here during a snowstorm (12") for brunch. Food: Best pancakes I've ever had. They're like grilled or something, I don't know, they're just GREAT. Fluffy, and really rich. Not just some bland batter relying on syrup---they were GREAT. Home fries were above average but not life changing. Bacon was great and cooked as requested (I like it crispier). But the PANCAKES. Get the P-A-N-C-A-K-E-S. Drinks: Wife got a Chai Latte. It was amazing. She's a Starbucks fangirl, and this one way WAY better---excellent. My orange juice was exquisite as well (coming from someone raised in a 'juice' household). Service: Awesome! Janella was amazing and extremely attentive. Nancy was an all-star in the Kitchen. Legends. Bakery/Store: They also have all sorts of delicious little treats and cakes for sale (cake bites, cakes, cheese cake truffles, cookies, etc ), and an attached mercantile store! Lots of country store crafts and stuff, with a small PG-13 section ('Screw Work', alcohol humor on mugs, etc.). There are restrooms in the cafe section. Getting There: This place is HARD to find---you can't see it from the toad. A local shoveling outside during the storm at a nearby restaurant in the same plaza didn't even know it was here when we asked for directions! You have to go to the back of the plaza and loop around a bit. Definitely visit for breakfast pancakes, tea/coffee, and brunch vibes.

Their place is a hidden gem just waiting for you to enjoy it! The owner Nanci is so very special and inviting. Everything is homemade, delicious, and have us looking down tears to the next time we come. We were so impressed that we messaged friends while we were enjoying a few pastries and coffee to tell them about it. While we were there other customers came in and Nancy knew them all....so great to find an amazing place like this. Didn't mention the store inside has the most unique gifts?!?!? You won’t be disappointed, it’s a must if you are in/near North Conway!

Wow! What a find! We were shopping and saw the sign- so we knew we HAD to stop in. The store is really cool with interesting and unique items. But then you go downstairs to the most quaint and surprising bakery! Nanci, the owner, came over and chatted with us. She was so kind and upbeat! I wanted to try everything, but was able to rein it in. Her desserts were not only beautiful, but SO tasty! We tried the Salted Caramel cake and the Funny Bone-both amazing! Her cakes are so light, moist, and flavorful. The Swiss meringue is so smooth. And don’t get me started on those funny bones! They tasted EXACTLY like the OG! A light layer of chocolate coats a moist, chocolatey cake, filled with light, fluffy, oh-so peanut buttery filling. We will be back! This is a must try!! You will not be disappointed!

We’ve been going to North Conway NH for years and we try and eat at different places every time we go. This year we happened upon Underground Bakery and Cafe. It was the best breakfast we’ve had in the many years we’ve been coming. Very friendly, knowledgeable wait staff. It’s an elegant homie atmosphere. They pay attention to the little details from the cloth linens, the ice cubes they use, the glasses they use, little straw in the OJ, the fresh cut fruit on every plate. Portion sizes are amazing. Food is all cooked by the owner herself and it’s delicious. The owner will come out and ask how things were. They were able to accommodate our party of 7 and food came out in a timely manner. Don’t let me forget the pastries and desserts she makes they are elegant and delicious. Price’s are great as well. We loved everything we ordered. We definitely will be going back next time we come. When you go, look for the big red building and it’s and her cafe is the door furthest to the right. Highly recommended. It’s one on North Conway’s hidden gems.

Literally underground and you would not find it unless you heard about it. This is a quaint and relaxing breakfast spot serving a variety of classic dishes. Pancakes were outstanding. Western Omelette was spectacular. No wait, at least for now!

I was lucky enough to dine during the Chicken Salad special this past Monday. It was phenomenal! Please add this to the menu! Our whole experience dining in was fantastic. Specifically of note, we enjoyed watching the staff interact with each another. It was nice watching happy staff work together as a team to provide excellent service. We are lucky to live close enough to make this a more regular stop.

I love it here! The food, service and atmosphere were unmatched. My friend got an omlette with a pancake on the side, and I got the French Toast with an egg on the side. All of it was delicious and cooked to perfection. The specialty drinks were incredible! I did not taste her hot chocolate, but she raved about it. My Pumpkin Chai was so good that I could drink it by the gallon. Both my friend and I had to get pastries to take home, and they did not disappoint. Not only do I want to go back for the food, but also to see those amazing employees.

This is a place to put on your list to try, a true hidden gem in the basement of Sea Dog Brewing! Food was excellent, great portions for a reasonable price. Service was impeccable.
